Robin McKinley gave me her home phone number when we were working to get her to speak at the secondary school where I used to teach -- on the condition I would never divulge it to anyone. :)

Most people who know her at all, if they chose to call her by part of her publishing name, refer to her as 'Bear'. That's why I felt it was a sarcastic reference.

And Bear obviously was very, very upset that day. But again, I thought you were good friends with her, and, therefore, talked with her on more of a regular basis, away from the internet. My apologies.
