Hee! I saw that, I think--and was thrilled to learn Priest's second novel was out (bought and devoured it on plane home yesterday).
IT ROCKS!
And she has LJ too -- reminds me I need to go friend it.
ANd I can go snicker at Stross some more.
I get so bored by writers going "omg all those icky bad writers are writing crappy novels all about stuff i don't like and it's clearly keeping all the good stuff i like or write off the shelves, waaaaaaah). Yeah, yeah, cry me a river.
I like the fact of more vampire novels (but I don't have to like or read all vampire novels).
I never read steampunk before Priest because it all looked too full of muttonchop whiskers and tweedy guys.
