[politics] gotta love it
Feb. 10th, 2004 11:28 amNow, Heads of state who ride and wrangle
Who look at your face from more than one angle
Can cut you from their bloated budgets
Like sharpening knives through Chicken McNuggets...

Bush: The movement of American factory jobs and white-collar work to other countries is part of a positive transformation that will enrich the U.S. economy over time, even if it causes short-term pain and dislocation, the Bush administration said yesterday.
You got that? According to the "President", your ass getting laid off and staying that way is good for the economy. The question this begs, of course, is if that means that keeping unemployment high is the policy of this Administration
The responses from the Democrats so far has been amusing:
Kerry: I've got a feeling this report was prepared by the same people who brought us the intelligence on Iraq.
Edwards: These people -- what planet do they live on?
Looking further into the article, we see what planet these people live on. These people live on the planet where this time last year, 1.7 million jobs would be created in 2003. The estimate was a little high. About 1.75 million jobs high. Maybe someone dropped the negative sign from the report by mistake -- that messed my sixth grade math homework all the fricken time.
This year, these people live on the planet where 2.6 million jobs will be created in 2004. Anyone up for a betting pool on whether they dropped the minus sign this time, too? That's 216,666 jobs per month, and January came up a touch short. OK, it came up alot short. In fact, it came up 104,666 jobs short. And Bush is bragging about it. So now they need 226,182 jobs per month to hit that number.
Maybe the numbers are accurate, only they're talking about job creation in India and Russia, while we're thinking about job creation in the US?
Headline coming soon: Mad Cow Disease and Lead Poisoning good for you, reports Bush Administration Surgeon General
And remember... technically, George Bush is not a deserter.
