Thanks to Avedon Carol for having this notion in her blog and to Conceptual Guerilla for coming up with the idea and doing the brain work to lay out cheap labor conservatism in easy to understand terms.

Use the term cheap labor conservatives any time you want to talk about them, much in the way they talk about big government liberals.



In other politics, watch this space for an essay I've been bouncing around my head for years and is finally taking coherent form. Working title: Towards a Feminist analysis of BDSM and a Feminist response to Some Feminist Criticism<.i>

That approach works with people who think of themselves as "labor." America is famous for the extent to which people do not think of themselves that way. It's a main reason socialism never took hold here.

I agreed... but I thought he'd get better results with the phrase "sweatshop conservative".
