Aug. 13th, 2003 01:05 amIf I'm on vacation, why is my boss calling me? Ah, well, I get to recoup those hours and take more vacation later.
People often ask me -- automaticly, I think -- where I'm going for vacation. I live in New York City, I tell them. What is there anywhere else that I need to go to that isn't flown here daily?
The answer, of course, is my friends from out of town. But I see them on other vacations.
Vacation is being wonderful, though it's always too short.
Yesterday we went to Astoria Park. I managed to bone-bruise my foot last week, so I'm walking with the cane (yes, the one in the icon), but tomorrow I'll be ready to try walking without it. While walking around, we came across the Astoria Pool, which brought early memories flooding back. Not that they were forgotten per se, simply that I hadn't thought about them since I was six or so. Occasionally when Queensview had run a day camp we went to a pool, but I never knew where it was. Seeing it, I remembered standing there, only being much shorter, and getting into the pool and wanting to dive from the boards that are now closed for liability reasons.
jadegirl and I sat, watched cars, watched people, enjoyed the weather and each other, and when we looked at a watch 3 hours had gone by.
I'm having a grand old time.

Date: 2003-08-13 08:40 pm (UTC)You're on some thing or other, when your boss calls.
He should have known not to call or something like that, but you'll take more of whatever it is later, to make up for it.
People always want to know where you go to get it.
It's great, but it doesn't last long enough.
Sounds like you need to find a new dealer.
