I am often asked by conservatives, if I don't approve of Bush's cunning plan to fight terrorism or rid the world of the likes of Saddam Hussein, what's my better plan?

I present, for starters, a simply rule to live by:

Don't keep pace with dogs.

Stop putting thugs, punks, and crooks into power, and we'll stop finding ourselves in the position of wishing that thugs, punks, and crooks were in power.

Gen. Abdurrashid Dostum is a thug. Check out Vyoma's explanation of why this is.

Ahmed Chelabi is a crook. A convicted felon, no less.

It's not like we put these thugs, punk, and crooks into power without knowing what they are. Sometimes we do it because it's what they are. The "our son of a bitch" doctrine has to go.

Stop putting them in power, you stop wanting to take them out of power.
