Generals gathered in their masses,
just like witches at black masses.
Evil minds that plot destruction,
sorcerers of death's construction.
In the fields the bodies burning,
as the war machine keeps turning.
Death and hatred to mankind,
poisoning their brainwashed minds.
Oh lord, yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away.
They only started the war.
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor, yeah.

Time will tell on their power minds,
making war just for fun.
Treating people just like pawns in chess,
wait till their judgement day comes, yeah.

Now in darkness world stops turning,
ashes where the bodies burning.
No more War Pigs have the power,
Hand of God has struck the hour.
Day of judgement, God is calling,
on their knees the war pigs crawling.
Begging mercies for their sins,
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings.
Oh lord, yeah!

Kinda' hard to believe that this is the same Ozzy that can't find his shoes now...mental note: cut down on mind-altering substances, and loud music.

Isn't it? Then again, it's hard to beleive that folks like Dio, Scorpions, and Iron Maiden once each were able to play at Madison Square Garden and sell out the house...

BTW -- I came across your journal looking over people into Rolemaster. I'm glad you came peeking back.

I've been looking around in here, live journal, for communities interested in rolemaster/merp etc. but can't seem to find any really. I've been playing rolemaster and rolemaster derivatives for about 15 years now and my group is getting very small now. It would be interesting to hear some other experiences, views, ideas etc..
p.s. interesting journal.

I've had no luck either. I'm thinking I may start one.

I started playing Rolemaster about 19 years ago. I had been a D&Der until Unearthed Arcana came out and, contrary to Gygax' specific promise, there was not one word of original material. Since moving back to New York, I've had no luck getting a gaming group together.

Do you use Shadow World at all? If so, do you follow Terry K. Amthor's pages?

p.s. interesting journal.

Thanks!

I first started using Arms Law when it first came out to augment the AD&D combat system. It was kind of interesting, but it never really replaced AD&D until all the I.C.E. Rolemaster stuff came out. I think it helps in role playing if everybody involved has a complete understanding of that worlds history and cultural biases. The group I play with now are quite insistent on playing within the Tolkien framework, so no I don't use shadow world, I've read references to it, but haven't seen it.
I still play once a week, but my group which used to have a comfy 5 or 6 players is down to 3.. I find it awkward to play with less than 3

I like larger groups, too -- I like to tell intricate stories, and lots of people bringing lots of different hooks to the table plays right into my hands. :) I handle the cultural immersion aspect with write-ups of the general background, plus what someone would know given their history, and let them concentrate on that by handling as much of the mechanics beyond rolling dice as possible.

I miss the party of 8 I was GMing in college...
