Last month, I talked some about what the Bush "administration" had announced would happen in terms of employment this year. To refresh your memory, they claim they will create 2.6 million jobs this year, which is an average of 216,666 jobs per month. Moreover, since they were so short in January, they needed to do 226,182 per month for the rest of the year to make up for it.
Well, you'll never guess what.
Not only were a pathetic 28,000 jobs created this month, but the numbers for last month and December had to be "restated." So, in January instead of the 16,000 they originally claimed, there were only 8,000 new jobs. Anyone up for a betting pool on the error in this month's number?
In any case, for the time being I'll accept the current number for ease of calculation. That's a total of 36,000 jobs created since January, meaning they need 2,564,000 jobs per month to make their goal, or an average of 256,400 jobs per month.
And in the meantime, left and right I see people on my friends list getting laid off. And Fucked Company reports more layoffs daily.
