I have learned today that when you walk into any store on Fifth or Madison Avenues carrying a Tiffany's bag, no matter how small, you get treated very nicely by staff.
Waxing semi-political, if there's any doubt about the state of the economy, about half of what I wanted to pick up was sold out this year. The reason, I found was:

- Last year sucked so badly, there was tons of merchandise afterward that had to be sent back.
- Everyone from Steuben Glass to Marie Belle Chocolate thinks last year is a good predictor for this year.
- Therefore, they sent out very little stock.
I still scored nicely.
